1 fun-loving toddler, 1 mostly indifferent infant, two amazing parents, and a warm coffee shop = a perfect winter family session! I was so looking forward to meeting the Dean family after they scheduled their session back in November, especially after I got permission from Fox in the Snow to do this shoot there. I’m so thankful for local businesses who are open to letting this little lifestyle Ohio family photographer in their doors. I spend many of my afternoons editing and reading (and eating WAY to many pastries) in their shop so it just felt right to bring the four Deans with me this time. They showed up ready for coffee and some memory making.
As with most family sessions, it was all about running around and playing with the smaller humans, while take those brief opportunities to capture some family bonding. I love and admire all parents of small children who will be brave and plan a family session! Especially in the busy month of December when there are so many other things to do…not the least of which was that this family and just moved into a new home! These parents were great at going with the flow, playing with their littles and just letting me be an observer. I loved running around outside, catching those sweet moments, and laughing at myself when I sat in a full puddle of water!
My main mission as a lifestyle Ohio family photographer is to step back and let families interact in their own way. Thats when you capture the most genuine moments that will always bring them back the days when their babies were still babies.
I have to take a moment here to talk about the incredible food and coffee at Fox in the Snow. I don’t think I can say enough good things about the service and quality of their products. And on top of that, they have created a beautiful, modern, and yet comfortable environment that truly promotes community. They purposefully do not have available wifi, which I think is pretty unique in this day an age. They truly desire for people to unplug and enjoy the person or the book in front of them.
This was the perfect session to wrap up 2017! 2018 appears to hold some big changes for us and we can’t wait to see where that takes our business. There are new families to meet and old ones to reconnect with. Its gonna be a good year guys!
